Join Donna Druchunas in this 4 week live zoom class

Learn how to approach the digital comics page - its not the same as paper and pen!

When: 4 weeks starting Saturday March 2, 2024 at 1pm to 3pm Eastern

Where: Online via Zoom

Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Cost: $259

Materials: This course requires use of digital comics tools and software. The strategies discussed can be used across different programs including Affinity, Procreate, Photoshop or similar porgrams.

Let's Make a One-page Comic in Procreate!

Script then thumbnails, pencils then ink, lettering then color. This is the traditional process for making cmics on paper, each single step a discreet element. Following the same steps in digital comics creation makes the work harder.

Instead, Donna invites creators to think about 'background-midground-foreground' or 'scenery-characters-objects' instead. By thinking and working in layers, it make it easy to revise and reuse the elements from our comics so we don't have to draw things from scratch over and over again when we want to make changes.

Over these four weeks, Donna will demonstrate easy to use work flows to make your digital art versatile across static printed comics or motion comics.

About the Instructor

Donna Druchunas is an artist, writer, and fiber-artist based in Vermont, USA. While she is well-known for her work as a knitting designer, she is also a comic artist and illustrator. Donna uses a variety of mediums to create her comics, including pen and ink, watercolor, and digital illustration. Her work has a rich, expressive style that combines bold lines and vivid colors with a keen eye for unusual details. Sometimes she seeks to capture the complexities of human experience, and to create stories that are both universal and deeply personal. But mostly, she just likes to play around on her iPad using Procreate to have fun making comics!
